A Dream Lived

Growing up, I could always be found roaming around outside. Playing in the mud, climbing up trees, looking for bugs and rocks. My heroes were Jane Goodall and Yann Arthus-Bertrand, primatologist and environmentalist. When I dreamt of what life could be as an adult, I dreamt of living a simple life, in a treehouse, amongst animals and in peaceful harmony with nature.

As I first arrived at KSES and we were given a tour of the base hut, I found myself overwhelmed with emotions. I felt the things I envisioned as a little girl were coming to life, and felt as if I had just brought the little girl in me home, finally.

My stay at KSES was nothing but a dream. From observing the elephants (without interfering with their habits), to spending time in the village and connecting with the amazing staff, I leave here with the utmost gratitude, and hope to come back one day, soon.
