A Journey to Remember

I couldn’t be more grateful for my time at KSES. I had the incredible opportunity to spend two weeks there as a research intern, and it was an experience I’ll never forget. Surrounded by the stunning natural beauty of the environment and the amazing creatures that inhabit it, I felt connected to nature in a way I hadn’t before. Each day, I looked forward to hiking out to see the elephants, where we spent around 90 minutes tracking their behavior using ethograms, guided and supported by the dedicated and knowledgeable staff. One of the highlights of my experience was spending time with the local children and learning new games as well as organizing “village English” lessons, playing games like Skip-Bo, and uno. The experience left me with a deep sense of respect for wildlife conservation and a genuine love for the community that welcomed us so warmly.
